Today was fairly uneventful, but VERY good none-the-less! I was at the Drs. bright and early this morning, and finally got told I could take my beautiful, black, orthopedic, boot off! HOORAY!!! I could not be any happy to be done with it.
The doctor once again thought it was humorous that I had plans to to go for a run tonight. Apparently its crazy to think one can go from an orthopedic boot for 5 weeks, to running the same day. Apparently it makes better sense to start WALKING normally before you begin to run. Apparently he doesn’t care that it takes this body a long time to work up to a 5 mile run, and 8 weeks of NO running is hurting my lofty goals.
I was able to get new running shoes today though. I’ll be sporting those for the next week until I return for hopefully my last follow-up with the doctor. I’m looking forward to getting them broken in nice and good before I head out for my first run in them.
Woohoo. YEAH!

New running shoes are way better than any old orthopedic boot! Tell me the truth–are you walking *fast*? Trying to get some intervals in?
Patience, o speedy one. Our half marathon is still shimmering in the distance. Remember we have til October to train–plenty of time.
What shoes did you end up in? Are they cool?

I’m def. ‘walking’ fast…
I have to keep up with Brady after all!
Shoes are not stylish, but feel oh so good on the feet! Saucony progrid 2. I really liked a pair of Nikes I tried on too-so I’m thinking that I’ll try those next.

Oh, that’s absolutely how I pick my shoes. My faves are Nikes, and I’m kicking myself now for not waiting til my store had them in stock. I do rotate out of two models just b/c they say it’s good, but for me, my Nikes are my go-to shoe. Feel like a dream on, almost like a house slipper, but they help my terrible feet.
Glad Brady’s keeping you running . . . you know.
